My 2011 base model has a DRL OFF on the headlamp switch to lock the DRLs off. Yours doesn't have this?

First off, HIDs in the hi-beam is not necessary. You already know they're not working properly because of the DRLs. Try searching on HIDPlanet for your answer or Google Dodge Ram/ Chrysler 300 regarding HID flicker as they have a similar issue with HID kits. My guess would be to use a wiring harness for the hi-beam because it will only take a small current to trip the relay and send power to the ballasts.

In the fogs. My guess would be possible melting of the housing or glare. Not 100% certain though.

you have to have your dealer disable your DRL.

Couldn't have said it better.

HID's don't do any good in your high beams, or Fogs...except comprimise the safety of others on the road.

As for turning the DRL's off...as said above, the dealer can hook up the computer and turn them off (even if they say they can't)

why not just led bulbs or whiter bulbs in the highs instead of hids?

You should put HID's in the backup lights too. That's probably what's wrong. The car has an un-balanced HID system. If you just put them in the front it will unbalance the car and they will flicker. Seen it 100's of times.

Install them in the rear lights and report back.

lol someone may actually take your surious -_-".

@OP
You must do alot of backroad dark as f*k driving if you need hid high beams. Hid low beams and fogs should be plenty more then enough. Dose it flicker when you have the drls on or when you have the highs engaged if its when your drls are on its because there's not inof wattage going to the ballast if its when you have highs on then I'm clueless and if you show up to the dealership with all them lights and something electrical goes wrong there goes your warranty. Good luck
