Gen5 Serpentine Belt squeak

Car: 03 I4 Camry SE 90,700km

I have had this car for 2,000km and a nasty squeak has emerged from one of the serpentine belt pulleys. Has anyone else had this problem? It is a common sound that you hear coming from older Dodge Caravans and similar, but not usually from Camrys.

Note: The belt looks like it will need to be replaced in the not-too-distant future, but I don't think that it's causing the noise.

Thanks!

The problem is the belt, the spring loaded tensioner, or both. Get a wrench on the tensioner center bolt head if you can and with an extension see how much tension or flex you have. If it isn't forcing itself back on to the belt, then perhaps the spring has broken.
