5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
Thoughts on this, seems to be universal, intake for the 4 cyl gen 5?
EDIT:
Not too bad on the matrix.
Good job with modifying the intake. Also, good thing you got rid of that crappy air filter. That filter literally chokes the air your engine breathes. I changed out this filter for an S&B (I'm a fan of K&N filters but none were available during the dyno run). I got anywhere from 6whp/6lb-ft to 14whp/16lb-ft of torque (depending on the rpm) gains on a 2GR-FE. It was ridiculous! http://rav4world.com/forums/viewtopi...highlight=dyno
Good idea to free up the intake for extra power as well. I had a 2004 matrix that I changed the intake and exhaust on. I had an AEM intake on it. Miss that car. http://www.matrixowners.com/lofivers...hp/t51106.html
That intake made decent hp/torque. Here are the gains I had.
Your gains should be similar I assume. Hope you like it as much as I did. I sold the matrix because Toyota would not put a 2GR-FE in it. I wanted that as an option on the AWD XR model.

Myxalplyx, thanks for all the valuable advice. I thought of replacing the OEM air filter in my 2010 Camry SE (V4), with a K&N air filter. Used the part finder in Amazon and was told that the K&N 33-2370 Replacement Air Filter should work fine.
Drove 10 mi to a Pepboys, they confirmed that the 33-2370 is the one I should get, got the filter and when I tried to replace it, I found that the filter is about a half inch longer than the compartment. I am all confused now. Do you know what could cause this? Am I supposed to wedge the air filter in somehow? TIA for your help!
Uh................. your 2010 Camry has a different engine................................... than the 2007-2009 Camrys 4 bangers...........
yes, all the part finders that I used account for the 2.5 dual vvt-i engine on the 2010 camrys.
I have no idea why all of them show the same K&N filter if that's not the right sized one.
You might have gotten the hyrbid one thats what happened to me when i try to purchase one from napa they gave me the wrong one and i had to go to autozone and order the correct one.
