Gen6 RS3200+ Wiring Question

I have installed the RS3200+ Alarm in my 2007 LE Camry, but there is a small detail in the instruction that I am not sure about,

On Page 10, it talks about the V2 harness which has a Red and Blue wire. It says to plug the BLUE wire into the J/B plug...and I have done that, but it does not mention anything about the red wire...does that mean its not needed?

Once I get an answer to this question, I will take it to Toyota dealer to get it activated! Hopefully they won't charge too much!

Wrap it with tape and tie it back in the harness.
I read the manual and couldn't locate but one reference for the red wire (for smart systems only), that was to wrap both the red and blue wire, then tie both wires back to the harness.

I think the step to wrap the red wire and tie it back to the harness, was omitted. This "kit" is designed for other vehicles beside the Camry, just throw all of the parts in a box, then the Camry install manual with the appropriate part number(s).

Good luck at the dealer.......

Thanks! That is just what I thought, but its better that I got a second opinion...upon completion I tried the system and it did not work...and at first I thought the red wire was the power wire...lol, so then I was told that it would have to be activated from Toyota! Thanks again for the feedback

I left the car at the dealer for almost an entire day and I was told that the alarm could not be activated due to aftermarket parts in the wiring....All I have done is changed the radio....nothing else....any comments on this?

HEre is what they wrote on the service:
Hooked up scan tool. Accessed menu for Alarm settings. Set System. Tested and not working. Setup vehicle on scan tool again and went through diagnostic matrix. Unable to get system working but system has been enabled. Alarm was installed by customer.

So I am thinking it could be a defective art somewhere, or the alarm is not getting power....when it stops raining i will take a look at the wiring again....but if anyone who has installed this alarm has some tips...please let me know!
