No, The air has to be removed first. Plus you may have to replace the drier and don't forget the oil for the compressor!

Well, part of the problem is that you are in New Jersey. No slam on NJ, but it is late spring, and you have humidity. If you were in Phoenix in July, you could get away with not evacuating the system, maybe. You would replace the parts, seal it up, and then start the engine and a/c and blow some air out the high pressure valve. It would create a negative pressure. Bleed a little refrigerant into the system, repeat the evacuation from the high side, and then load it up. Not the preferred method of doing things. You aren't there though, and you have humidity to deal with. You really want to suck it down to at least an atmosphere and verify it isn't leaking before going any farther. See if you can borrow or rent a vacuum pump. And as noted, figure out how much oil was removed and replace it with the right type. Check the dealer if you need to. My wife's Rav 4 was wrecked and the shop had to replace the system. Added the wrong oil and a few weeks later the compressor failed. Very important to use the right oil, and don' t rely on the parts store guy. Ask the Toyota service manager.

Thanks gdanaher. Thanks Luna2. I ordered the condenser with receiver dryer. I will replace the condenser. There is zero pressure in A/C system. Then go to dealer for recharge. I will install some screen on lower bumper window for protection of condenser.
