Question '03 AC problem...

Hello,
'03 Camry xle v6...
Air cond blows tepid at start up and when at idle or drivin slow, but, works great when runnin at those highway speeds.
Sooo, the compressor is ok or there would be no cooling, the clutch is ok or s.a.a, blower fan ok and just changed the cabbin filter.
What's wrong with this darn thing?
Thanks in advance for your reply,
Leon Geiser.

Check your pressures. You are likely low on refrigerant. R134a should never be 'topped off' if there sppears to be a slow leak. Find the leak, (the Schraeders are the number one suspect), evacuate, and recharge.

are the electric cooling fans for the condensor coming on? you didn't mention that unless you mean blower fan. no cooling fans would create that condition of not cooling well while idling but cools at highway speeds. otherwise your most likely low on freon. shoot some dye in the system if you have a leak you'll find it pretty quick.
