It this how your 2007 xle v6 drives?

Hey all.. Today I drove a 07 xle (v6) It has 62k miles on it.. and I'm about to go there tomorrow to possibly make it officially my car. I have one slight concern though. THere seems to be a slight lag feeling when traveling about 45 mph and you let go of the gas..as if you want to let the car coast on its own. Its very faint but I do notice it for a second or two.. Is this normal for the v6 engines? I have never owned a v6

ALso.. I know there are some floating around on the net, but what recalls could I possibly notify the dealer of to make sure they have been performed before I purchase

Uh wat?

The moment you take your foot off gas, the valves begin to close the engine RPMs drop.... you slow down and your auto tranny will also start to brake by shifting gears.

thats just your transmission downshifting/gear hunting. completely normal. If I were buying an 07 though I would make sure to take a close look at the vehicle history/service records. 07 was the year the camry had its fiasco with the new 6-speed transmission on the v6. The bugs have now been worked out but if you can find a good deal on an 08+ it might be a better idea.

Yea, MJZ...its not just on the downshift..but immediately after releasing the gas pedal.. Not a serious problem, just something I am not used to from driving my 94 4 banger camry. I understand the v6 is a completely different motor/car. But I just wanted to make sure it wasnt an issue among those who know more than I do on that model.

And Scroo's..Carfax on the car are clean.. and it isn't a 06 build.. it was manufactured on Feb of 07 So the early v6 bugs hopefully were worked out before this particular car was made.

It could be the electronic throttle. On my car when releasing the throttle, there is about a 1s delay until it actually closes. In some cases, my car continues to accelerate briefly. I have a manual, so it is a bit easier for me to tell if my throttle is open or closed.

Pressing the clutch in also occasionally means a 1000 RPM surge for the same reason...

IMO, stay away from V6 '07. Too many problems.

The car seems good to go. The salesman assured me the vehicle went through recall inspections. I will be getting the hard copy documentation on that tomorrow. The total price after processing and tax will be $15.9

Hey yall.. just updating my situation. The 07 xle v6 I was looking at, Im getting her this afternoon!!

After much homework and research, I am secure in buying this baby. I checked all recall info, Drove her a few times. Once after they probably warmed her up already, and once i showed up w/o notice and drove it on a cold start.

I Had them order a driver side visor replacement. And also took them this( http://pressroom.toyota.com/pr/tms/l...vt-154549.aspx ) It was a Honda dealership, but they called RK Toyota(VA) and they are replacing the vvti oil line with the upgrade.

So at 62k, and black on beige..she will be alll mine. not bad for $15.8 OTD price right?

hELL Yea you should... lets say you buy brand new base model LE for 18k. 4 years later you'll get more than 50%, even it you do trade in value. All depends on condition of the car of course
