I noticed that even during hot days, my fans are blowing pretty cool/cold air compared to the temperature outside even though I have air conditioner turned off(green light is off). Have you noticed this? Is there some sort of cooling magic happening under my hood? lol
My car just blow normal air without the AC on, not cold like yours. So I guess when you actually turn on the AC it'll turn to freezer mode right?
AC blows regular cold air, not freezing but cold enough. The regular fan without AC though blows cooler air than the temperature outside. I though maybe ac is on somehow but light does not display?
That's the third button right? No, none of the lights are on. Just good old fan is blowing cool air.
I don't think the light has to be on if you are running the defroster. I guess I need to look at my own, but if the light is not lit, that is no indication that it isn't engaged. Bulb could be bad. Set the far right knob to blow only through the front vents, full counterclockwise. Set the middle to be on the cool end, but one notch up from MAX. MAX will engage the compressor. Run the fan with the engine off. Start the engine. If the air becomes cool then yep, there is an issue.

On the V6 ,you can probably see the magnetic clutch on the compressor turning if the AC is engaged. The thermistor attached to the evaporator or discharge piping [the low pressure side] is probably calibrated to keep the evaporator temp around34/36 degrees F. My 2004 will put out 42/50degree air even on a humid Nebraska day. Determining if the compressor is engaged should not be that big of a problem. Pull the fuse for the compressor. Your owner's manual will show you where it is located. Probably in the under the hood fuse box. Maybe the compressor magnetic clutch relay has failed closed. That should be in the under the hood fuse box too. Let us know what you find. Interesting
