Coolbeans 2011 SE Build Thread

Hello everyone.
Yesterday i traded in my leased 08 Camry SE and finaced a 2011 SE. the new camry had 2 miles on it and once i drove it home the meter read 7 miles

Im going to do an oil change at 1000 miles with Mobile 1 and will be modding it soon. currently I have swapped all interior lights with LED's and scheduled tinting on Firday.

I noticed that the steering wheel on the 08 camry felt much better. the steering wheel on the 11 camry feel like plastic where the 08 was actually leather wraped. I checked the sticker for both camry's but there was no mention of the steering wheel being leather wrapped. Im wondering if this is just because its a new car?? i wish i had the 08 camry to compare side by side.

I don't know if you should change your oil that early.

I thought all SEs come with leather wrapped steering wheel? Or only the Leather optioned SEs?

my 2010 came with leather wheel and shift knob without leather seats.

My 2011 SE came with leather steering wheel, shift knob, and I got the leather seats.

it might just feel different bc it's new. should be leather wrapped. let the mods begin!

I did not get the leather interior option. I hope that it just feels this way because its new . My 08 Camry did not have the leather interior option but the steering wheel was leather wraped.

It's a good idea depending on the build date... some cars can be sitting on the lot for months before it is sold

plus lots of people recommend first oil change be early bc the engine is still fresh and then after that u can do as much as u like.

Doesn't Toyota put in a slightly modified formula so the engine breaks in properly?

OP should probably get Toyota's opinion before changing at 1000 miles.

still my dad and his mechanic friends always do it at between 1k and 2k. then at 3k to 5k or more depending on oil. idk if toyota does it but still doesn't hurt.
