Need to replace radiator hoses

So at 2 different auto shops I was quoted over $200 to replace the radiator hoses (which I would provide) on our 2004 Camry XLE . I've decided to do it myself, just wondering how much coolant should I be expecting to come out so I have a big enough container ready.
Thanks.

Dont go back to any of those shops, ever, even if your life depends on it.

I would get 2 gallons to be safe.

The total system capacity is about 2 gal for a I4. The radiator holds about 1 gal.

Are you going to use that $22.00 a gallon Toyota pink stuff? What a rip off. The back shop supporting the front. Toyota parts guys feel free to jump in here.I've had Valvoline Zerex Dex Cool in my 2004 for going on three years with no sign of problems. That doesn't mean the block won't hole out tomorrow, but the Valvoline coolant has been ok for three years.Enjou your insights members.

What is the point of a business if they cannot generate profit?

I agree with touringcamry. No business can survive without making a profit. But let's be realistic. $22.00 a gallon coolant, and that's premixed, is not profit, that is molestation. I'll bet Toyota Corp. doesn't have $5.00 in a gallon in the long life coolant.I paid Bomgaars $7.95 a gallon for the Valvoline Zerex Dex Cool. If a retailer can sell Dex Cool for that price, why is Toyota getting $22.00 a gallon? I would liked to have used the Toyota coolant.I paid $15.00 for a gallon of it in 2006. No $22.00 a gallon coolant for me. It might be even more now.I'm old, but I am not senile.

true that. They are just not going to generate their profit off me. I spent years learning how to fix cars, in order to avoid being gouged by shops like this: $200 to do something you can easily do for an hour of your own labor?. (After 10 cars this is the reason i wound up choosing a toyota).
