What do you guys think of Painted Rims?

So I've been in love with the IS rims ever since I saw them on Kazakh's Blue SE so Pawel let me know of a listing that he saw that's local to us and they are a pretty good price. Only thing that scares me is that they were painted and now that he's selling them he painted them again. He said that he had them painted with a pro paint gun and then sealed with automotive clear-coat, I asked him how he prepped them and haven't heard back but I'm guessing he probably did a quick Brillo pad doubt that he did it right to sell. How likely are they to keep in good shape, and not flake or scratch up easily. My other concern would be the center caps my Toyota ones wouldn't match anymore. What do you guys think.

This is the before picture that the seller provided

This is the after ready to sell looks great but for how long?

I think you got the pictures switched. If not they both look good just ask him how it was painted and how many coats clear etc usually if its done professionally at a reputable shop it will last as long as any other rim its just you may curb or get rock chips in it.

those rims looks so cool. you should ask him more detail about the paint process but if its done profesionally you shouldnt have problems. if you buy em take some pics in your car to see it. good luck

dude... you said he's local... go meet him and look at the condition of the rims yourself... and personally, I would powdercoat vs paint
