Just got a brand new kenwood 1500 watt mono amp http://www.6ave.com/shop/product.aspx?sku=KENXR1S and a line out converter. I looked at the rear deck ad there isn't much wire to tap, and doesn't look very sturdy. I looked on camrystuff.com and i cant make sense of the wiring harnesses on the JBL amp. For all of you that have hooked up subs to your stock JBL systems, where did you hook up the line out converter?

yea? or t-taps? what were you going to do at the amp? splice into it without soldering? its all the same stuff, the only good thing about getting a LOC from the speakers is that your amp is right there to power the box in your trunk .. well i hope your box is in the trunk.
Also have you taken a look at the amp to see if it has a line input? might be easier using that than a LOC
I simply connected it to the rear speakers using these 'pressure clips' where you don't need to cut the wire - like a tap. Works fine w.o any problems, no reason to run the wire to the factory amp or anywhere else. I assume your new amp has speaker level input. My LOC also had the remote turn on lead for the amp!
^ like he said, use those clips.. im sure its t-taps or i think posi taps might work.
Im sure your amp has a line input too, as for remote just piggy back it to a fuse under the driver side dash that has +12v when your key is in acc and on position.
