help

Hello I just like to mention that I already posted this on Introduce Yourself by accident, so I'm sorry for doing that, but anyways. My 07 camry se instrument panel clear cover has scratches on it and im planning to replace it. So my question is how do I disengage the claws on the bottom of the finish panel? Also do I have to pull out the instrument cluster to remove the clear cover or is it just snapped on? I got some idea how to do it (thanks to camrystuff.com) but I dont want to break anything.

You might use a thin putty knife to get at the bottom but why bother? if it isn't too bad off you can polish it out pretty much in place and save the expense. Search here for other threads--especially renewing and polishing headlights. Same principle.

The lower panels pull off...
If you have small fingers, you can pop our the plastic cover without taking out the cluster... otherwise, it's only 4 screws that hold the cluster

Did you try polish first? it would of been the first things i would of tried and usually works pretty well depending how deep the scratches are.

Yeah I tried polishing. I tried plastx and ultimate compound from meguiars, but both the products were taking to long to cut down the defects. I think If I took a random orbital with the plastx that it would cut the mustard but I don't have an RO let alone a decent drill that can hold a charge for more than 20 seconds.
