Anyway i think its around 300+ for a bunch of work that is done for free on a regular check up

See http://repairpal.com if you are not doing the labor yourself. They seem to be fairly accurate for my area and the services I've had done.

I believe this is basically an oil and filter change. Find a BBB and inquire about an independent automotive repair facility. Well maybe the 3year/30,000 mile maintenance also calls for replacing the air filter. I would think about $150.00.

don't know price but put in your car info and it tells you what will be done. my 09 camry just hit 31k, but i have a oil change due at 32k so i'll just have it done then. I replaced the cabin air filter and stock air filter with K&N filter myself. So i don't have to worry about that.

well this is just me but here what i do
oil change-every 5k
rotate-every 5k
coolant-every 30k
tranny-every 30k
power steering-every 30k
air filter-K&N
cabin filter-every 5k
timing belt(if equipped)-every 60k, had one go at 67K
brakes- first time pads and fluid flush, second time pads rotors and calipers.

current brakes have 70k and and have almost half left.

you can do what you want, but have had 5 toyo's
1-91 corolla was hit and totaled
1-91 corolla, last heard was in oregon or Wasghinton at 250k+
1-93 camry- same, in wi with 250k+
1-05 camry- rearended totaled
1-07 V6 XLE camry 70k no problems cept for vvti line that leaked.

Thinking of switching to royal purple and changing to every 5k filter/top off
and 10k change oil.

I belive that pervenitive maintenence is cheaper that post maintenence. i base this on years as auto tech. Switched to computers/electronics, because i like it better, but i still love cars.

lots of good info here, some while not wrong can be confusing to people who are not into cars. somethings there are many ways to do something, yet there are all correct. nice to see people help each other.

The sky is the limit on service work, but you can check and replace the cabin and engine air filters yourself. Have them change oil and filter, rotate the tires, do the basic bumper to bumper check, and report back. You do not need to change coolant, tranny fluid or air in the tires. If everything is working, leave well enough alone. If anything is actually broken, it likely is likely covered under warranty anyway.

Cabin filter every 5K is an overkill. Only thing I will add is brake fluid flush about every 2yrs or 24000 miles.

The recommended toyota service @ 30k miles is Lof, Tire Rotation, Replacement of Engine Air Filter, Replacement of Cabin Air Filter. My dealer does that plus replacement of all wiper blades & balancing of all 4 tires for $299. Most things from the 30k maintenance you can do on your own.
