How to remove the rear disc rotor

Are there any tips/tricks or special tools needed? I plan to replace the rear wheel bearing/hub assembly tonight and don't want to get caught by surprise.

On which car?

Here's a quick Google search for your Camry.

Gee, you've been registered a whole 5 months longer than I have and I'm still a noob, huh? Aren't these boards meant to post questions? Sometimes a search doesn't yield all the expected information.

Immature name calling will only put you on everyone's get lost list and result in little or no help for you. njerald has a valid point here, and if you spent much time reading these posts you would better understand.

take off the caliper and make sure the E brake is not engaged. should come right off, hit it with a rubber mallet if you need to.

Was able to get it off with little issue - a little work of the rubber mallett helped it a bit.

Or,

there are two threaded holes on the rear rotor.

Screw in two screws into each hole until the rotor pops out. I found that on a thread here somewhere. It worked for me when I swapped out rotors.

For those that the rubber mallet won't break the rotors loose. Use M8 x 1.25 bolts in the threaded holes in the rotor. Slowing turn each bolt in a few turns at a time until the rotor pops free. Even with a rubber mallet I could break mine free. The bolts did the trick...

That's what it was....

I just couldn't remember the size bolts I used. I just happened to have some laying around in my collection of bolts and screws.

There already is a DIY.....that's how I found out how to do it.

Take the 30 minutes to search for it.
