Thumbs up 2011 SE Seat

Hey all,

I have been lurking for a while, but my first post. I am bought a 2011 SE last week and I cant get comfortable in the thing. I was hoping some of you might share with me how you have your seat adjusted. I am 5'9" and right now I have the bottom of the seat all the way down and the lumbar all the way off. It seems as if it should be comfortable, but I end up with either a back or neck ache every time I drive it for more than 5 min.

thanks for your help and I look forward to being a member of this community

That is so subjective and specific to each individual. I like my Lumbar support all the way up, i have a slight incline of the back and the seat forward enough so my knees are still bent when the gas peddle is fully depressed, but not foar enough forward as for my knees to hit the underside of the dashboard. Also have the seat pretty low for head clearance.
the bottom bolster is at a slight angle up from front to back.

I am 190lbs 5'10" with a bad back and love this seat.

thank you for your reply. perhaps the lumbar is the missing piece for me as it sounds like we have a similar adjustment on the rest of the seat.

Thanks again!

no, SE has bolstered seats or something, it's more comfy than the other trim.

I like to drive my SE with the steering wheel all the way up, my seat at its highest elevation, and the seat pushed all the way forward. I'm 6'3 and if it works for me it will work for you, Enjoy!

You're 6'3; if you push your seat all the way forward, how far are you sitting from the steering wheel? I wonder if you have enough clearance for quick turning?

I think the way we sit depends on our own preferences. For example, some may prefer seeing the hood, while some may not; some want to lean backward (relaxing), while some do not. We can have the same height, but if my legs are longer than yours, I may sit in a different way from you do.

I adjust my seat in this order:
- Back and forth: my legs are comfortable, not touching the underside of the dashboard, being able to depress both gas and brake pedal all the way down.
- Up and down: I can barely see the hood if I lean forth (in case for parking)
- Steering wheel and the back of the seat: I wrap my hand on the top of the steering wheel so that my arm bends naturally, along with moving the steering up/down/back/forth for me to feel comfortable and be able to see the entire instrument.
- Lumber
- Mirrors
...

However, no matter how I adjust my seat, I cannot eliminate the entire left blind spot (the part between 2 doors obstructs my visibility when I look left. Luckily, the car is bigger than this spot, but I'm afraid of motorcycles).

We may have our own preferences.

I find the seat very comfortable, but setting up your seat is a personal thing. I find the tilt/telescopic steering wheel has a lot to do with a comfortable seating position. I like sitting away from the dash so my legs are outstretched with the front of the seat bottom all the way up and the rear all the way down. This gives good thigh support. My seatback has a slight rake but not barco-lounger style and my lumbar is always pumped up to max. I've got a bad back and I find these seats more comfortable and supportive than almost all the cars I've owned.
