5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I am sooo happy because I just sent in my last of 60 payments for my 05 TRD Sport Tacoma (It only has 37,000 miles). So last weekend I went and picked up a new dark gray 2010 LE Camry. They had $4000 off sticker so I couldn't pass it up..ya know. (I know better than to walk onto a Toyota dealer lot...I always walk away 20K to 30K poorer). Anyway I sure like this Camry. Her and my Taco will just sit in the garage and I will mostly drive my 2000 CE Camry or the Harley.
AAAAAAHHHHHHHH LIFE IS GOOD!!!!!!!

Man you guys are so lucky down the US with such deals.
Up here in Canada (especially in the province of Ontario), it is absolutely impossible to get a car for even invoice value, let alone BELOW invoice. You can try any tactic, you can offer to sell your soul...but the dealer will never EVER sell before invoice.

Well, congrats and good for you. Just not sure what for, i.e. you have a daily driver in the 2000 CE, a fun bike, a truck paid off....and now take on new payments on yet another camry . Is it for your family, wife, kid, cousin....?

That's what I was thinking... why buy a new camry just to have it sit in a garage???

+1
congrats, but why not save up and get somethin better...
Well the camry is a good machine. I figure the 2000 camry=daily driver/work car, the 2010 camry = long trips and travelling, the tacoma for pulling the RV or the 4 wheelers. The only thing not paid for is the new camry and I put 10k cash on her. I don't have much debt really....just a mortgage and now the new camry..no credit card debt or anything like that. I could have easily paid cash all out on the camry but I am trying to get my FICO to 830 or so from my current 812. Eventually the CE will be toast then I will rotate the LE in as a daily driver.
The 4K off was just too good to pass up. We may never again see this good of deals as we have seen on Toyotas lately, as a result of the combination of a crappy economy and the bad press Toyota has gotten over the excelleration fiasco/scam.
Why not save up and get something better you say? In my book there is no better machine than the camry. Better looking or faster cars made but not "better"

Well, enjoy. Good for you and no explanation needed - was just wondering why spending money on a nice, but standard car when you already have plenty. I probably would have invested the 10k - as you said, economy is down and there are too many stock bargains for me to resist.
