2010 SE-While driving all indicators on cluster lights up needles drop dead to 0
Hi guys,
I need some help here with my brand new 2010 Camry SE. Obviously its under warranty and its been checked up at the dealership but they keep giving me the same ol' BS saying they cant find nothing wrong since it doesn't happen when they are driving it around. Its not something that happens daily, just randomly happens but this is the 4th time its happened to me within the last 3 months.
Problem: I'll be driving on the highway doing about 70MPH and it seems like the power just cuts off for like 2 seconds. All the indicator lights (oil, abs, check engine, battery, etc) on the gauge clusters come on. Both the RPM and speed needles drop dead to 0. Its too quick to tell if the car actually died since its still rolling. After the 2 seconds all the indicator lights go off and needles for RPM and speed go back to their normal position and all is fine again.
Any help would be appreciated. I'm just trying to see if anyone else has had similiar issues. At this point the only thing I can think of is the ECU going bad or the gauge cluster is malfunctioning....
Obviously no code is set......
I use a "fleet logger" chip to log the events in the car, as they occur.
Time to dig out a movie camera, mount it in front of the IPC, and set it to record whenever you drive.......
PIA I know, but it will be recorded.......

Thats exactly what I'm doing now... Video recording it so I have proof.
I'd say ignition or wiring harness short somewhere, is it after bumpy roads? Or only at freeway speeds? Has it done it at stoplights or low speeds?

It has never happened when the car was at a complete stop. One time I did notice that it happened right after I hit the brakes on the highway to switch lanes... ABS module?

Do a test run, tap the brakes at different speeds, do it with cruise engaged/disengaged, ect. Try using turn signals, poping the accelerator, anything that can cause a quick surge. My moms accord did the same thing and had some other issues as well, turned out to be the wiring harness.
