Are Gen5's sensitive to auto parts store R134a refill kits?

Has anyone tried one of those cheap auto parts store R134a refill kits on their Gen5 successfully? On the forum for my previous car, people recommended against those kits due to the possibility of breaking stuff - so I'm a little wary. These cars seem to be pretty durable, though. Opinions? (other than how I'm cheaping out. I don't have a job, so don't criticize me please).

Put some in my 02 Tacoma and in my 07 Camry. Both now blow like a blizzard.

any a/c system is sensitive to those kits.

lets start with the root of the problem first though.. is your car blowing hot, cool or what. second, after time you WILL lose freon no matter what: couldbe as much as .3 lb's a year which is acceptable. you can just shoot a small amount of freon in it if it falls under that-like the 12oz can to start. if your car is blowing hot air you most likely have a leak somewhere which in that case the leak needs to be found and repaired first, then you HAVE to vacuum the system down to boil off any water that has entered the system and so you have no air in it. then recharge with correct amount of freon for your car. hope that answers your question.
