Reading ABS codes

Ok could'nt really find a clear post on reading ABS codes for 5th gen Camry's. Got an 02 Camry ABS and brake light on. How do you read ABS codes? I've jumped pins on a 97 Camry to read ABS codes but the 2002 has the OBD2 DLC under dash only and I dont know if you can jump pins on OBD2 DLC's.

Brakes are spongy so its gonna have to be bled but I wanna read the code first. Any help appreciated!

Well it's been awhile and you haven't had any response so I will give it an outside shot. I don't have a manual for that year but the Gen6 usies the odb to collect those codes and there is some discussion of it in the later service manual. At this point I would see if the local parts store would pull the code for you and then you can research it from that angle. How many miles on the car? If the pedal is spongie and there are no leaks at the wheel cylinders, then the master cylinder might be suspect and need to be rebuilt/replaced.

Thanks for your reply. Local parts store (Autozone, Advance) only reads engine DTC's but not ABS codes.

Also the harness in the above link (http://codes.rennacs.com/plugins/Toy...16-Sequoia.php) is on older model Toyota's and Lexus. My 02 doesnt have it but my 90 Lexus does.
I'll ask the parts store if I can buy the Actron ABS scan tool and then return it for full refund.

Many parts stores rent or loan for free common but rarely used tools. Ask.
