I have to replace this light in my girlfriends 5th gen, 2002, and I have no idea how to do it. Looked everywhere, searched the forum, anyone do it yet?

Replacing the bulb in the third brake light? i think if you push it to the right or to the left it should just slide over and pull up to take the housing out, thats how i did it in my old 05 le.

Push in on the housing about an inch and a half from each corner at the housing to shelf interface. That will release the tabs and the housing can then be rotated up and away from the window. Works for the 04 and will probably work for your car

That sounds like the trick, thank you, I was just out looking at my 09 to see if it was similar, not even close, and it looks way more challenging than the 5th gen.

gen 6 has led... u probably wont ever need replace them
