stock radio light question

is there anyway to lower or dim the lighting around the stock radio? for me personally it takes away from my night vision when i drive.

Without major surgery, no. Sorry. It bothers me as well. It wouldn't have taken much for them to fix this but it likely cost another five bucks.

I would cut out of some electrical tape and put it over the lights if it bothers you that much.

The only dimmer I am aware of works with the instrument cluster, and no the two are not attached.

has anyone else experiance any flicker in the lights surrounding the radio. mine started to flicker while i was driving the other day, happen only twice, flickers and then stays on like nothing is wrong, i thought i was seeing things until my wife noticed it yesterday and ask me if i did that.. anyone???

The instrument cluster dial dims the instrument cluster as well as the radio. But if you dim the brightness of the radio, you can barely see the instrument cluster which sucks.

The light on the radio goes to "night mode" when the tail lights are turned on, either manually or automatically. It's at that piont when the dash light dimmer circuit is enabled. Also the headlight on indicator in the instrument panel cluster will light up.
