Gen5 dual exhaust on gen5 camry v6

Well I'm sure there are many out there who have done this, but since I could find no one I decided to pioneer my way through getting the exhaust right on the camry.

2 Magnaflow 14851 stainless hi polish race series mufflers.

custom y-pipe, stainless 2 1/4in each way.

And expert welder and pipe fitter, Brad, down at D Muffler right here in Brampton, Ontario. Honestly, it was the best work I've ever had done on any of my exhaust jobs I've been through with my previous various vehicles. Highly recommended.

So Here's the journey of how it all went down. Took me about a year to try and figure out how I was going to fit this all together.

I finally decided upon cutting new holes in the bumper and filling the OEM exhaust hole.

Turns out there is metal hanging down all behind there a little lower than expected, so about an hour of cutting and an hour of fiberglass work to make sure any water stays out of the exposed metal area.

After each weld we cleaned dried and painted so as to prevent any rust forming later on.

After it was all said and done (hours of attention to detail and getting everything perfect) I clear coated the piping and all welds on the muffler with high heat engine clearcoat rated to 500C.

I did all the bodywork myself on this one and D Muffler did all the piping and welding, and really quite excellent muffler mounting. Still have to fill the OEM hole but am excited to share the days events.

thanks all. No proper shots yet been working at this all day just got home 2 hours ago so no sleep for me yet, lol. But shots will be forthcoming. It's real nice on the v6s though I'm really just ecstatic its like a chorused deep rumble when you start the car and accelerate. Its a really warm pleasing harmonic sound really works well with these cars. Actually as soon as I drove into my neighborhood just after i got back from the shop, I had a few neighbors come over wondering what the sound was, its so mellow but yet a really pleasing tone. ...I've got to figure out a way to get decent quality sound clips up here, lol.

Oh btw, go to hottexhaust.com of you want Magnaflow stuff, I paid a little over half what every single retail outlet or shop quoted me for the mufflers.

Here is a photo journal of the body work done to the bumper cover...
First I had to plastic weld a piece into the OEM exhaust hole :

Then came hours of sanding and then filling with a urethane bumper reapair filler. Takes about 2 hours to dry between sandings and application so it took me two days to complete the smoothing out process:

Then finally came the painting. I decided to trim it all out in flat black:

And here is the finished pics after filling and painting:

And of course the SOUND CLIP: http://www.supload.com/listen?s=1KbDGI

Thanks bro. Ya, I was actually going to try and put a gen6 rear bumper or else weld parts of it on to my rear bumper, but I couldnt find any in time at my local body shop. It was really tricky getting the masking tape lined up over the curves and couldnt cut it rounded so I just did a straight edge, but would like to try adapting gen6 OEM lip kit to the gen5 soon as I can find one lol

could just get the gen6 bluebat overlay and put that on the bumper instead.
