TPMS questions

Hey guys,

When I got these wheels the guy that had them before took the tpms out and sent them to me. Now i'm not really sure if he took them out of my wheels and sent them, or sent me his, but they aren't working with my ride. I'm finally sick of seeing the light so i'm trying to figure out how to get it off. I can't imagine them being broken as i've seen whats involved in their install and removal and watched the guys at the shop put them on my wheels.

What PSI does your TPMS activate? I RTFM and..

Tried using the reset TPMS button with all four wheels at like 32 pr 36 but the light would never do the 3 slow flashes it was supposed to do. Rather, it would just do what it always does. Any idea guys? I do NOT want to buy new ones at $150 a peice.

Dude seriously, turn your flame off. I'm well aware of forum etiquette, and have searched. Thank you for wasting your time. I know they are registered to the car computer. My question was, "What PSI does your TPMS activate? I RTFM and.."

k, thx.

It will activate about 5-7 pounds below, so if you have about 32-34 pounds in each tire then they should be just fine. Beyond that, if the light is on or flashing then the sensors are NOT registered with the computer and you have the wrong set. To register them you will need the bar coded labels that come with each of them. Failing that it may be possible to get those numbers by deflating the tires and breaking the seals and taking a look at each sensor. They usually have the number on the inside of the sensor but there is no guarantee. Are you saying that you traded wheels and tires with someone? If so, what are the odds that he swapped the sensors before returning the other wheels? Better call him and get those sensors back or this is going to get expensive. So much for good deals, huh? BTW, njerald was right in this instance. It's all been covered, except maybe the part about trading wheels with someone else. That's a new one.

yes that tire pressure light is very annoying, i got 4 new tires in may and ever since then my pressure light comes on and off. It blinks for a min and then turns off the next time i start my car. This past week i must have been to the dealership like 4x times, i keep telling them the same thing over and over again and they just tell me to check my psi. They even reset it for me all 4x, and it comes on again later in the day when i drive and then turns off. I was actually there again today, and they told me the same thing. I asked if the sensor could have been messed up in the tire installed, but they said no all the sensors are working. so idk, i guess i will just have to live with it. lol
