Ok i been trying to get some kind of trunk supports on my car cuz i'm tired of holding it with my head when i need to use both hands to take something out.
I took the springs off when i put my CF trunk on because they were too strong and were pushing the trunk up leaving a huge gap.
Some shocks like the ones for the hood should work, but where the hell do i mount them so that they keep the trunk up and have enough room to close?
Any good idea will do and if someone has actually done this that would be even better.
You can use the original tensioner spring just heat it up it will soften and wont be as strong. Thats somthing worth a try i think if you do decide to try it lemme know how it goes lol or you can just put a wooden stick in the back and prop it open when needed. Good luck

good idea but problem is where to mount it, cuz i change my trunk once winter comes around. So i want something that's gonna stay there all year round.

Thanks guys.
you could mount the hood supports to the trunk arm (hinge). what i would recommend that that you go to (where else) the dealer and buy 4 of the pins that those shocks mount to. the hood pins should work or, you can buy the pins that fit a rear hatch door on a mini van.. now, you would drill a hole into each truck hinge, down by the curve of it (on its side). attach one of those "pins" to each hinge. next, you can either make a bracket out of simple angle iron, then with sheet metal screws, attach this to the underside of the rear deck (where the speakers would be). or, you can find a way to mount this to the wheel well. attach (drilling first the holes) for the pins. now, you would need to buy the shocks that when extended, will fully close into itself. all those shocks are extended when you buy them, so take a measurement, then go to the store.
by the way, since its only a trunk lid and doesn't weigh too much, you might actually only need to install one shock.

It actually feels pretty heavy without the springs, even the CF trunk. The OEM trunk is even worse.
I dont think mounting it to the underside of the deck would work, but since i have a system, i might be able to attach it to the front side of the box, unless i can get to the wheel well easily.
