05 camry engine swap need advice on 2azfe to possibly sienna v6 3.3??!!
Ok so heres the deal, Its a 2005 toyota camry le 4cylinder, I'm pretty much fed up with the 4cyl I had to have the transmission rebuilt completely, had to change the entire throttle body and now since I changed the throttle body, when I start the car it wont let me give it gas it only idles, and since i've come to find that its a gas pedal sensor that also works in conjuction with the tps as well as another sensor, long story short i've come to the conclusion that i'l swap the motor fully since it would be alot less headache on my part, however i was thinking istead of another 2azfe couldnt i try the 3.3liter v6 out of the sienna? and if so what modifications do you think I would have to accomodate the v6 motor if any at all? NEED help!!! please post your input will be greatly appreciated.
I would just love to say it is an easy plug and play. Far from it. New engine and transmission, ecu, radiator, front and rear springs, linkage from transmission, exhaust system front to back, speedo head, very likely different brake calipers, and that's just what comes to mind without researching it. Get rid of the car and buy something with a V6. You aren't going to do this swap. It would cost way more than the car is worth, and maybe get you a price tag close to original cost, so forget about it.

I never said I wanted to do this swap, i was just exploring my options before having to either jump into another payment that i could certainly do without, or geting into an older car, my problem is that this car is paid for in full, and if I can preserve the life of it for a fraction of the cost, then hey why the hell not ? lol But thanks alot man atleast now i know that this swap would require alot more than just mount and an ecu.
homie why the hell would you take that 3.3 from sienna when there is 3.3L on camry gen 5.5??
I was just wondering because I thougt they were the same motors, just one being detuned by toyota, and for the fact that i saw one for 650 shipped, that being said i thought i'd be able to do minor mods to accomodate the new engine....however, im back to the drawing board because another car is out of the question.
Let a decent mechanic have your car and fix what ails it. Quit messing with the thing because it seems you might not be be up to the task. It's only getting worse.
