Raise the roof(WTF?!)
So I'm driving along starting this summer and I'm hearing this pop in my roof as I drive. It occurs as I turn then happens again when I straighten out. At first I thought it was just just body flex, but then it got worse, so I decided to have it checked the same time I had my sunroof adjusted last week. Turns out this same problem occurred in a new corolla just recently as well. During the manufacturing of the car a couple of the welds on the roof were done apparently a little messy, and those welds are near some other welds. So what's happening is that when I turn the body flexes a little bit then the welds get caught on each other, then when I straighten out they pop apart again. Just thought I'd post this and let you all know in case you have the same sound. It will sound like a metallic "ting", kinda like something bounced off your roof. Or I compared it to the metal sound that's made when an engine is cooling down. So it's nothing safety hazardous, just nagging, and they said I would have to drop the car off for a day or two and they would have to rip the headliner off, possibly the sunroof and drive around watching and listening for the sound to fix the welds.
