How good is this for tuning?

i know they claim to tune fuel maps and ignition but i was wondering how good these are if anyone has used them and are they worth the money? if not does anyone know where i can get an interface cable and program for retuning the oem ecu? or just run a piggyback?

you'd be better off with a piggy-back, the chip just tricks your ecu with false readings but over time the ecu will re-adjust itself

I called Jet a couple months ago about this chip. You have to send in your ecu and they take out a chip from it and solder in theirs. They 'guess' what tune your truck needs based on what you tell em you got. They also said that they fatten up the a/f ratio. I asked why, mine is 10/1 stock! Fatten it up anymore and it'll smoke like a big rig Maybe the customer service rep made a mistake,IDK? I asked him several times, my dyno shop tells me that if I can lean out the a/f ratio I'll unlock at least 10hp.

I just stay away from this; I don't want to mess the ECU up. Everything in a car now is controlled by a computer, so if something wrong happens (like SUA), especially when it relates to throttle, you lose even more than the small hp you gain!
If you want more hp, the SE V6 is the right one for you, or you can consider some turbo kit or supercharge (~$1k).

Remember that Camry is not a race car, so if you want a powerful car, you need a different car!

ok this is not the send in kit. its a computer that plugs into obd2 port to readjust stock ecu values. same thing that tuning on a computer would do. i am just curious about effectiveness.

The computer is self correcting, so you might be able to change some values, but in a short while the car will correct them back to normal operating parameters. Save your money on this one.
