Pics of custom intake

picture of the custom intake on mary's car. didn't want to make it too long but not too short so the filter is about where the dipstick is.

pretty good. it's an intake sound actually you want the least amount of sound form the intake itself. but the motor definitely has an audible difference. my intakes i make are to improve mid range power not top end. i would post a video but i do not have anything capable of recording

niceeee. I tried this once, couldn't get the sensor to work so the car never turned on. How did you mount the sensor?

an adapter plate fro $30 with variable air tunnels that go inside so the maf sensor reads properly and different mounting plates fro ANY maf sensor. pm me for the link. i could make a true cold air or an even shorter short ram, but after 2 years of product testing on my old 4 cylinder eclipse with it's 2.4L 4g64, i found that for a motor that is built for top end, an intake to improve mid range provides better gas mileage and better track results but up to 0.04 second consistently.

BTW, i will be doing a track run of Mary's camry with just the intake as soon as she will let me and i will post the timeslip(s). shooting for 16.5 at least. i will launch at 2200 rpm's, no burnout of course.

Nice, but you'll find that Spectre cone filter allows alot of dirt/contaminants thru.
I recommend you ditch it ASAP.

track day went horrible. details in turbo thread i started. to keep it short, problems need to be attended to before accurate differences can be measured.

Hi, was wondering, where did you put all the hoses that connect to the factory intake?

Thanks.

Well theres only one hose that is actually connected to the intake. That is for the valve cover so i just kept the hose and stuck a small breather filter on there. Since then i have added 3" polished aluminum to make it a cold air and that spectre piping is about to be gone since i found going to t6 polished is alot better and cheaper. I would post track times but i haven't taken it to the track in a while (fiance's car). last time was with heavy tires and several exhaust leaks and ran a 17.1. Since then almost all the leaks are gone (theres one but it's a bitch to find) and installed lighter tires that have better grip. So i am hoping to get a 16.6 out of it (not bad for an intake). No more mods will be done to this car though since she decided she owuld rather pay it off and buy a mitsubishi lancer ralliart.
