Gen6 Need help removing front seats

I recently purchased a 2008 Camry LE with water damage to the interior. The car was left outside in the Florida heat, and the interior is now moldy. The plan is to strip and replace the seats, mats, carpets, and all. The trouble is:

I cannot find a how-to for removing the front seats. I understand that they have airbags built-in, and I would rather not have one detonate in my face during the removal. I look forward to your responses, and all help is appreciated.

P.S. I did search before creating this thread.

Edit: Also, where can I find replacement carpet (not mats) for said Camry?

If in doubt, unhook the battery, but otherwise, each is held by 4 14 mm bolts. Pull the bolts, tip them up and unplug. I suspect the dealer is the only place to get original form-fitting carpet, but any interior shop could have a go at it.

Thanks for the quick response, gdanaher. How do I remove the center console. Better yet, is there anyone on this board who has had to replace the carpet for their 6gen?

The console is connected by screws and clips which you don't want to break. Look at the repair manual which will show an exploded diagram of the console, where things are located, and how to take it apart. Way more complicated than a simple forum text message but a picture is worth a thousand words.

its 4 bolts. unplug the 2 cables that connect the seat to the electricals. and just undo the 4 bolts and you're set. It will take you 5 minutes tops.

if You want to be safe, disconnect your battery for 15 minutes, since the airbags have a reserve power supply that lasts a big longer. After you wait, then disconnect the two harnesses.
