code 442
I just wanted to put this up for those that might run into the same issue i did. (2006 Solara V6)
My check engine like came on one day, and after taking the car to autozone and having them scan it. The code came out to be.. 442 evap leak. The under educated, autozone employee, insisted that the code meant something was wrong with my perg canister and could not be gas cap..
Well, I went and purchased a new cap from the dealer, and drove around, like I would have anyway.. The code did not clear. I called the dealer and they said it would be 100 bucks to clear, and that if I tired to disconnect the battery. The code with still remain..
Turns out, that code is gas cap, and once replacing the cap. Disconnect the battery, wait for about a min or two. Reconnect and everything will be ok.(just the negative) I am on my 4th day now, and the light has not come back on.
