Tire pressure

hello , first time poster here .
Recently bought used 2007 camry 4 banger. Car came with solara 17" rims and goodrich tires. Everything else is stock. My question:
Tire pressure label on door jamb is for stock 16" rims only. What would be recommended tire pressure for my 17 rims ? I was thinking of 32psi. Would 35 be too much ? These goodrich tires appear noisy and hard even at 30psi. Lots of thread left, so will keep until gone !!
Thanks for your opinions

I think i get the picture. Do any of you have 17' rims ?
Shouldn't tire pressure be higher with 17" compared with 16" rim ???

I might be mistaken, but manufacturer tire pressure is solely based on the speed rating of the tire. Last time I read that was on the michelin website if I could find it again I'll post a link. Doesn't matter what rim size you have, depends on load of the car, etc. You can actually buy a tire that is a lower speed rating than what your car recommends and put a higher than recommended pressure in it to match your car. The formula for that is available on the michelin website. It doesn't say anything about rim size that I remember... but just my 2cents.

Does it matter if the tires are nearly worn or affected by season? I just had my car for service, and the dealer adjusted them at 40 psi, stating that I may need a new set of tires (and it's summer here). For my previous services, they had adjusted them at 32. Is it normal?
P/S: My tires are 225/45/18, and the car is running on lower springs.

I kept my stock 17" tires at 34psi all around and had very even wear. On my newer 225/40/19 tires, they are all at 38psi all around (although this is what America's Tire filled them to and I'm not sure if that is appropriate).

thank you for all your inputs. You have convinced me. I'm going with 35 all around. (easy number to remember).
I'll monitor them for wear pattern in the next few months.

Here's another reason to go with 35 - the 2007-2009 Camrys I4 have 30 PSI on the door jamb. The 2010 and newer Camrys I4 have 34 PSI on the door jamb - the only difference between the two is the engine and transmissions, and it is just a slight weight difference. My point is if the 2010 and newer Camrys have 34 on the door jamb, the 2007-2009 will be fine at 34 (or 35).
