5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I didn't know if anyone was searching for this, so I figured I'd show you the brake lines that I ordered from Techna Fit.
I just got these in, but I haven't installed them yet. I recently installed Cryo Treated Power Slot Rotors and Hawk Ceramic Pads and they feel great, but I wanted a stiffer pedal if possible and even if it's not stiffer I know it will give me some added safety against cut or broken lines. I'll let you know how they feel when I do.

They were $90 before shipping. I think they were $97 including shipping. I can't wait to put them on, but I've been to busy to get down there and replace them.
I felt a stiffer pedal on my Sentra when I put braided steel lines on so I was hoping to feel the same on the Camry. Hopefully I'll put them on this weekend and find out for sure.

The pedal is about 5% stiffer on most vehicles.Tough to feel that difference.
The feeling difference is the placebo effect which works.
The way you order from them is a little weird. you can download there from and mail it to them, fax it to them, or email it to them, but you'll see it as you look through their page.
I think I forgot to mention this, but the part number for the Gen 6 Camry isn't on their web page. I emailed them to see if they made it and they emailed me the part number and price. The part number is TOY-1028 and the price was $90.

I Know this is old, but I finally installed the braided lines. I've never had so much trouble replacing brake lines in my life and neither has my friend, whose been a mechanic for 42+yrs and racing official, that I had to ask to help me. The factory hard lines are softer than most and when the machines at the factory tightened them down the hard pipes flared inside the hoses so once the screws were loose and the hard line could freely move up and down the tip couldn't get past the tip of the hose without some persuasion. He actually had to cut one hard line and re-flange it. Because of how much trouble I had replacing them on this vehicle I would be weary about doing it myself on another Camry.
As for how they work in comparison to the factory hoses, they are great. After bleeding the lines with ATE Super Blue with the car off the pedal felt ridiculously stiff. Once the car is turned on and the power brakes kick in the pedal feels the same as before, but while driving less pressure needs to be applied to the pedal to stop the car. Even my wife noticed the difference even though the car already had Power Slot rotors and Hawk pads on it for the past 10 months. My friend was also surprised at the difference
For what it's worth, because of the trouble that I had doing the install I would take it to a shop if i had to do it again, but they're definitely worth replacing.
