Purchasing OEM parts

Hi everyone!

I tried searching and couldn't find a thread about OEM parts, either I suck at searching or there really isn't one. On the Honda forum I am a member of there is an individual who works for a Honda dealership and generally gets OEM parts for 5-10% above cost. Is there such a person you guys turn to here on the Toyota forum?

I need a replacement sun visor for my 2007 Camry SE, dealership won't cover it because we are out of the 36K mile warranty. They want $117 to replace the sun visor. I saw another individual here got a replacement for $76.

Thanks for your help!

Thanks Njerald, now if it's driver side would that be considered LH (left hand) side? Also there is ash and Bisque color my interior is Grey so I'm assuming I have the Ash interior correct?

THANKS!

$117 is about right for replacement if you include the labor. Of course, cheaper to do it yourself.

I sell it for $68.86 plus ACTUAL SHIPPING COSTS plus $1.00 - $2.00 for materials, etc, not some percentage or over inflated to make up the difference for the discount.

What you will also see, is that I am in here offering my experience, expertise, opinion, and answering questions. So, if you need anything, have any questions, even if they are not parts related, don't hesitate. I am in here usually everyday.

But wherevere you do buy from, feel free to ask me anything.

Good luck.

I thought I'd use this thread to reiterate what I do in many of my posts for everyone who searches to see.

I offer 30% off MSRP to TN members plus I only charge actual shipping costs plus $1.00 - $2.00 for materials, etc. I am also in the forum just about every day. I believe in the old fashion personal touch with a bit of modernization to it. What I mean by that is that my website isn't some order taking machine. If you want to order something, you can email, me, PM me, or call me. Since I charge only actual shipping costs, you'll never get a made up ridiculous shipping charge. I am available to you to answer your questions and am here to assist the TN members however I can. If you ask me something and I don't know the answer, I'll tell you and then do my best to figure it out or guide you in the right direction.

So, I look forward assisting more and more members.

Good luck to you all in whatever your repair or project may be and I'll see you in the forums.

omg.... I wish i was part of this forum sooner. I just recently replaced my sun visor. I paid about $117 at a local Toyota dealer. Extremely easy to install no tools required just a flat head to pop out the old tab. I just hope they improved the design because there is no reason for a sun visor to break like that.

My friend is a service advisor for a Toyota dealership. My mom has an 07 Camry, so I asked him what problems he has seen with this car. He told me the only thing he sees alot of is the visors. What fails on these?

I believe they fail at the pivot point where it swings. I had a 96 Camry and I have an '04. The 96 had to be replaced, but in that car I did a lot of driving and the constant up down, side to side, etc, just finally wore it out. I have had to replace mine in the "04 as well, and I think that they are just not holding up the use. The '07 and newer are just wearing at a rate that I am not happy with.
