5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I have a 07 camry and because of the economy, i need to buy tires that are kind of cheap. I see the Kumho Ecsta ASX and BF Goodridch Advantage T/A that are pretty good brands and are kind of cheap. Anyone know whch one is better?????

I would go with the BF Goodrich Advantage's. Great comfort and grip, rain or shine. They'll last you arouhod 30-40k miles (more or less depending upon your driving style). They're rated to about 130mph, so you should be good ;D
The Kuhmo's are slightly below the BF Goodrich's in almost every aspect.
I have the goodrich tires from costco on my 07 camry with 17" wheels. Sounds like a TRUCK !!!
Should be quieter with 16" rims ? Thread-wear seems good. Anyone else have the these ??
Are they also noisy ??, 16" or 17" ??
I have the Ecsta ASX tires, though in a larger size than stock which are unfortunately expensive.
I got them last year and I live in Chicagoland. I've been VERY happy with dry grip (which should be a given), wet grip, and snow grip. My wife also had zero complaints over the winter.
Note that the BF Goodrich has a much higher treadwear rating. It should be a harder tire and therefore last longer.
that size it will be a stretch for a decent tire, but I'm going to stick with my original post and go with the BFGs. In this area, opinions will vary greatly.
Yokohama AS530 roghly $150.00 a tire, or a Michelin Primacy MXV4 for $175.00ish. Those would be my two choices, but then again, I know that they are a bit more, but I like quality and longevity. For me, my car, it would be some form of Michelin. Maybe more upfront, but more cost effictive in the long run.

Do you want cheap or do you want inexpensive. There is a big difference. Look at Michelin Hydroedge. They are inexpensive.
I wanted to get these installed on my 08 Camry however Sams Club wouldnt install them due to the speed rating being less than what originally came on the vehicle. The 90k rating seemed good on them and the reviews were excellent. Instead I opted for the Michelin Pilot Exaltos which I'm thrilled with (have 15k on them now). They were $137/each installed at Sams Club.

I've used the AS530's before. They never made a peep in sharp turns, and the ride was nice. RWD car, though.
