Gen6 Overheated brakes and scored roters.

ok guys, well yesterday i was doing something real stupid, something i shouldn't have done. And it required me to slow down from a very high rate of speed very quickly. Well lets just say that by the time i stopped there was smoke coming from the pads/calipers. And i had to let them cool down for a good 10 minutes because the had gotten so hot that brake fade was horrible. They feel fine now, but i scored the f*** out of my front rotors. I you look closely you can see little white blotches toward the outer edge of the rotors.

Is it ok to drive on them like this for a while? I feel no vibrations or anything.

yeah it's fine.

I can only imagine how fast you were going to do that to your brakes. Stop doing stupid shit before you kill someone. From things that you have said in the past, i honestly wouldn't give a shit if something happened to you or your car, as long as you don't take anyone with you.

You made no mention of how many miles you have on the car or brakes. Rotors rarely score like that until you are through the pad and down to metal, so it's time to pull the wheel and look at the pads to see if they are worn thin and need replacement.

cars got 25K miles and i had warranty front brakes done at around 16 because the rotors warped as per the TSB

Strange... maybe I should check mine. I've done 50-60mph to 0 cold stop MAX brakes with ABS like crazy and some very slow downs on the Highway as well.

Can't imagine any normal hard braking causing that. Brakes shouldn't smoke and blue the rotors on a single hard stop, even from 150 mph.

Dammit there was a TSB on the rotors. I replaced mine at 18k they were so warped, I couldn't tolerate it, and went and purchased new ones. As well as new tires at 20k and now at 34k lol

You're running stock tires and wheels and all? I wouldn't even consider going close to the limit on those things. (What are they, V tires?)
