Well I noticed yesterday that my A/C is not working as designed. It's blowing warm air out the vents, also I was hearing a faint whistling sound(maybe the sound of a leak?).Ironically my wifes car (03 Corolla)did the same thing the other day but the next day started working again.Anyways with 70,000 miles on it, am I on my own with this one?

yes only the 36 months, 36.000 miles you are covered.
I am not saying this is your problem, but, Corolla and Camry's have had some issues with the A/C relay going bad. In fact there is a TSB on them. Don't know if you have tried that yet or not, but look and see. I need to know what year your Camry is to further investigate. This may sound to easy, but I have had the complaint AC not blowing cold, and the relay has been solving the issue.

08 LE,taking it to the shop tomorrow morning.Thnx for the responses
Took the car to my mechanic(not Toyota) and he said the compressor is shot.I called the dealer where I got the car and the service advisor told me that nothing can be done b/c the warranty expired(67,000 miles on it now).My mechanic called around for a compressor and got quoted $1500(the cheapest quote) and also noticed that the waterpump might be leaking as well.WTF,I'm so PISSED I dont even want to drive this car anymore.Looking to get rid of this POS next year so I'm not going to put any money into it for now. Is there a TSB for the GEN 6 waterpumps?

not to thread jack, but my 07 camry has been at the Toyota dealership since Wednesday (9-1-2010) because the AC was not working correctly. They replaced the Compressor/Cluth, $2100, dryer $85, and now the expansion valve. AC still not working correctly, it is still blowing hot air. They are not sure what's wrong with it. They said they are going to call Toyota to see if they have had any other problems like this. Good thing I took out that extended warranty, only cost out of pocket was $70 and thats including the free loaner. Any techs on toyotanation ever see this before let me know of a solution. Thanks.

It blows hot/warm air. they changed the compressor, dryer, expansion valve. freon levels are good. Still hot air coming out of the vents. 89,956 miles. Everything seems to be working to me, but all we get is hot air.
Not sure if this TSB will help, but you can certainly ask if it may have anything to do with it. They may have already looked at it, but I don't know. It may not even be applicable, but I just typed in AC blows hot air, and this is what came up.
I had this exact same issue but I took it to toyota and they did a quick diagnostic. They said that there is an A/C relay that went bad, simple fix but hard to get to so the labor portion spiked the bill a bit. Final bill came to a little under 150 bucks, hope this helps in anyway.
