Has a timing chain which is a pluss. But u better hope ur waterpump never goes. Whole motor has to come out to get to it.

both my service manual and all data online repair manuals show that in order to get to the water pump the engine needs to be lifted out. Thats how Toyota dealers do it too....Its that way for all 07+ V6 Camry's. Strait from an online repair manual.

Not true, I have removed the entire front of the engine( Motor mount, wator pump, timing cover and chain to replace both cyl heads and cams in 5 Camry's. Yes the book does say to remove the engine but if you are a real flat rate tech you always figure out a faster way on each job. I have also replaced a ton of cams, cam box's and VVTi gears on these motors per a tsb witch says not to remove the motor but to remove the timing cover and chains and pays about 16 hrs Warranty time, i have these getting done in about 5 hrs now and not removing the timing cover or the pump as i have figured out a few nice cheats. This is how good techs make real $

actualy now that im thinking about it, i think this tsb also say's to remove the engine. dont get me wrong now, removing the pump and timing cover in the veh does take skill and is in no way an easy job. this is why i figured out a way to get the cams and boxxes out without removing the cover or the pump. This trick is also not for the average tech either and i help any of my techs who have to do this job.

has any1 Gen6 V6 waterpump die yet? I heard this is on the same list as the spitting oil feature and the misfire of the ignition coil. I did get both of that spitting oil and misfire and sold the car expect the waterpump feature will soon kick in.

Did you watch James Bond 007 movie? During a chase and James press a button in his car to release a massive amount of oil onto the road? Well, the '07 Camry added that feature because it's 2007 matching with 007. But they don't provide U with a button, instead it just happen randomly.

Seriously though, it's the oil line burst defect and it is one of the recall too.
