Gen6 Paint color match issue. Need opinions/insight. (Pic Inside)

Hey guys, long story short, I had to have my front driver side door replaced and the body shop had to repaint it to match my car's existing color. I have already come to realization that the results will never be perfect or like factory condition. However, looking at this picture, do you think I have a legitimate grip or do I have to temper my expectations?

In direct sunlight (as seen in this picture), the door looks almost gray to me. I have to admit, its not as noticeable in the shade or when it is not in direct sunlight. I am bringing my car back to the shop after the long weekend, do I complain and demand a better job or are the results to be expected? I have little experience in color matching, any opinion or insight is much appreciated.

Gen6 color match

Hello, I had my drivers side car door replaced last year; 2008 camry v6 se

It is White, My local Toyota dealers recommended body shop is the porsche audi dealers body shop!

They did a perfect job, to make it APPEAR to match perfectly they need to fade in the paint to the panels for and aft of the door.

AND provide you a warrenty of a few years that it will still match.

I am very happy with the work done on my car.

Insurance paid $3000 for the body work from other parties insurance.

I had a hairline scratch on my passenger door on my Infiniti Coupe. It drove me nuts so when at the local body shop, they explained they needed to paint not only the door but partially paint both front and rear fenders to (as Kiteboarder said above) fade and blend them together.

I got the car back late Friday and it has been eating away at me the entire weekend. I just needed confirmation. Thanks for the feed back guys.
They didn't blend the surrounding door or panels for me.

(Looking back I guess I should have posted this question in the general forum, not really specific to Camrys)

Is it hazy or is it literally grayish? Sorta hard to see in the pictures. If you are around Mission Viejo or Fullerton I can take a look at it and give you my opinion.

Let us know what they say? Put my '86 Mazda rx7 driver side door into a tree back in high school. Got it back and the car was never the same.

I am pretty picky since my closest friend is a painter, but that is just horrible even to the average person... Wow, I can't believe they let it leave the shop looking like that... I would have been highly pissed...

Sorry for the late update guys, it's been a hectic few weeks for me. Thanks for all the support and especially Eyezack for the offer. It's nice to know that TN users have each others back, the community here is truly awesome.

I took the car back to the body shop to complain about the poor color match. They apologized and said the reason for the color difference is because they did not polish/buff the surrounding door/fender/pillar. Apparently, because the new door was polished/buffed, it reflected light differently under the sun. I was skeptical, but I wanted to let them try to resolve the issue before I escalated my complaint. (They also commented that my original paint had orange peel).

Regardless, I gave them my car and picked it up the next day. They buffed/polished the entire car and sure enough the color is now a match. I have looked at it with a critical eye and from every angle under the sun and so far I'm satisfied with the results.
