USA Unlocking all doors by default

We have 2011 LE that by default the remote opens just the drivers door. We want to have it open all doors and the manual says that is an option that needs to be reprogrammed at the dealer. Does anyone know how to change this option without the hassle of going to the dealer?? I was able to reprogram my Venza thru the setup options and want both cars the same.

Thanks.
Kevin

It tells you to go to the dealer for this because the dealer has to reprogram the computer memory defaults. You have no options.

I am sure he is well aware of this. He want's to know if he can reprogram the system by himself to unlock all four doors with the press of the unlock button once. He was able to do it to the venza without going to the dealership and he wants to know if it is the same with the camry.

Anyways I have a feeling you will have to go to the dealership for the camry. I know the 5th gen camry had a few procedures in the manual which allowed you to change settings by following some simple procedures, but with the gen6, the manual will tell you to go to the dealer.

I used to have a 2007 Honda Civic Si. I was able to reprogram the car to unlock all the doors with just 1 touch of the unlock button. Plus i was able to get rid of the horn from honking every time i pressed lock/unlock. I honestly don't see why its something only a dealer can do. If a civic lets u do all this, why not the Camry. I don't see much difference in the two.

These functions are seriously not user programmable on a US gen6? Man that sucks. On the gen 5 they are user programmable.

Err, has anyone tried it anyway? Turn the key from off to on 3 times in quick succession, leaving it in on, then press unlock on the door. If it works the blinkers will chirp, then turn the key off.

Have a 2010 XLE; as I recall the User Manual shows you HOW to reprogram.

HTH.

Yes you can. It's called "lock 2 operation" on Toyota Scantool. I turned mine off.

Whats with all the smart a$$ attitudes? I did a search and found nothing, and as I stated this is something you can program yourself on Venza. If you don't like it move on, don't be part of keeping it going.
