Add Keyless Entry

I think this was covered some but I don't think it ever got a final resolution...

I have a 2008 Camry CE that I wanted to add keyless entry to.

Can someone give me the part numbers for the controller and wiring I may need?

Or if someone has one they are parting we can experiment and post the results for everyonne else that was cheated

Kind of a disappointment that they cheaped out on this...

search for a FSM on this forum, forgot the website....

if there's extra parts required you still have to take it to the dealer and have the keyless entry enable and program the remote using Toyota scantool.

key fob
FCCID: 89070-06232
Part: HYQ12BBY

isn't CE trim package has the minimal feature? I don't remember LE ever had keyless as standard on previous generations but it's standard now.

Who cheated who?? You bought the stripped version of the car. It does not have a power driver seat nor keyless entry, including keyless entry to the trunk. To install these components will cost twice as much as buying the LE to begin with. Next time you should review the items you are buying and take more time to make a decision.

Cheated?

no one cheated anyone. you get what you pay for. i paid for my keyless entry, power seat and all. I looked at the base model, but that's all i did, look. I knew i wanted the power windows, power locks, keyless entry.

I agree with gdanaher, you should have taken more time to make a decision.

that's like wanting a nav system then when YOU BUY a car without complaining that they cheated you out of it.

Everything is clearly stated on the sticker that is on the window. IF IT DONT SAY "Power Windows" or "Keyless Entry" then it dont have it!!

knowing what you wanted before the purchase would have saved this thread from being created.

x2, CE is the base model if you wanted that stuff should have gotten a LE.

Geez guys, I got the car used after my wifes '05 was totaled, I didn't have tons of options.

Bottom line is the "basic" car has a lot of stuff that would be consider frills and then they leave out the keyless entry?

Anyway I just am looking for some help to locate the parts....

I thought $1400 for a single power seat (for a single driver car) and remote unlock was way too much myself.
I got a compustar unit for $100 and put it in - it does remote start and I can kill the car after a hijack!

Sounds good then we can just close the forum down because the dealers will be doing all the work and we will all be clueless
