its not too bad just make sure you have all the right tools like the spray and squeegee
and of course a knife
make sure to leave a bit at the top so it doesnt peel back when u roll up ur windows all the way
+1 make sure you have the right tools. If you don't buy the "tint on" solution, you can use dish soap and water in a spray bottle. But definitely make sure you have a box cutter style knife. You don't necessarily need a heat gun, but it will make things easier. Try to do it when the sun is still out and when there is minimal wind. And the most important thing, TAKE YOUR TIME!
I completely agree with guru and bonez. It shouldn't cost that much more to get it professionally done. It is not easy even with all the right tools and a day off.
if you did it yourself, it would be cheap..they sell black magic brand window tint at a lot of walmarts I've been to...then you buy the adhesive spray, heat gun and also a good high quality razor
how hard is it? if you've never seen it done before or haven't the slightest clue, theres no way you could do it...its very easy to mess up the job + you're gonna hate dealing with the bubbles
Use alot of the water/soap solution, don't be afraid to get the doors wet.
I tinted my own windows this summer and it was a learning experience. The first window turned out terribly and the two back windows are starting to peel but my passenger front window is perfect. I think it takes about 3 windows to get a hang of it. I was, however, unable to do the back windshield. I don't own a heat gun and i ruined the film. but you can always get that done by a pro and still save alot of money.
don't forget to roll the window down a little and start from the top and roll window up once you've completed the top half of the film. then finish the bottom. This will ensure that the bottom half doesn't start peeling.
