Remote Start suggestions for 2010 Camry LE

I have a 2010 Camry LE. I am looking to purchase a good quality remote start. I am not interested in paying $300 and $400 for a remote start. Does anyone have suggestions on a quality remote start?

If your car doesn't have an alarm on it I would go for a full car alarm with remote start, but for a good quality one it's going to cost anywhere between $300-$600. Personally I like the viper alarms, but there are other good ones out there.

I have a 2009 Camry SE and I would let you in on some information that I have found out after I paid $600 for my factory remote start. I checked into the viper remote start and other non factory remote starts and most I wasn't able to use my keyless entry once installed so I decided to go with the factory installed. Now with the factory installed, once car is started with remote start, the car doors are locked. When you unlock the doors to get in, the car will shut off. The tech. at Toyota told me that was a safety feature of the car. To me, sounds like another way to get you in their shop more often for new starters and other maintenance. If I knew about that safety feature, I wouldn't have even bought my remote start. I also have a Ford F150 which did the same thing but have found a link online to disable that safety feature. For the Camry, I have been unable to find anything to disable it. Hope this helps with your decision and if you find any information on disabling the safety feature that cuts car off, please let me know. Thanks

i asked around and 2 guys that work at these 2 diff shops said the keyless entry WOULD work, which was my most important concern...they said something about the transponders working together or whatnot

any input from someone? i mean, it makes sense that the original toyota wont work anymore after an aftermarket install and those guys probably just wanted my money

You got suckered into buying a factory remote. Aftermarket remote start does not disable your keyfob

Yes, your original keyfob that came with your car will work. I have a Viper, wife has Valet, bro-in-law has another brand, friends have Viper, CompuStar and other brands and all their original keyfobs work. Than again, majority of brands are from the same company...just rebranded with a different name and different price.

Can it copy the keyfob so I only have to carry ONE remote?

Yep, you should have done the research. This is the reason why I didn't get the factory remote start, and also the reason why I haven't gotten the Viper one because you still need to carry and use your keys.

What I need is a push button retro I guess

I have Viper 5701. If you want feedback as in confirmation that car door is locked/unlocked, car started/turned off, trunk open, alarm going off all on the remote, you'll need a 2-way. Obviously, 2-ways will cost more compared to just basic alarm system.

Considering our Camry's have the buttons on the key itself, I dont know how you're going to carry 1 remote. You're going to be carrying the key with buttons with you. I believe all cars nowadays have the remotes on the key itself. Even if you carry a valet key, you can't open the trunk with the key.

I don't care much for 2 ways.. it can't copy my OEM keyfob over? I want to keep all that I currently have and just want to add remote start.

2 ways is not important. I'd look at my car when it starts.

Viper website is horrible, full of errors.

You said "feedback", so I assumed you were talking about confirmation.

What is there to copy from a keyfob? Door lock/unlock, trunk open and panic mode. A Viper remote does all that, remote start and more (based on configuration). The only thing a aftermarket keyfob wont have is the actual key to insert into ignition

Based on your questions...have you ever seen a remote start/alarm keyfob?

And yes i have seen that "fob" on youtube.

And yes I do mean lock/unlock/panic/trunk and I also mean keyless b/c my system is a keyless. So... no key. I hate putting the keys in my pants pocket, it's so huge. So 1 remote is good enough.
