Brake flush question

I just flushed the brake fluid on my 03 Camry. I went around all four wheels in the order RR, LR, RF, LF. As usual, the fluid level went down in the reservoir as the flush was in progress. Here's what I don't understand: the fluid in a small portion of the reservoir in the front right never went down. As the job progressed and I refilled with a funnel, I could see the fluid level go up during refill and down during flushing (and get lighter in color) in the remaing 3/4 of the reservoir, but the level never changed in that right front chamber. In the end I have fresh clear fluid in 3/4 of the reservoir, but dark old fluid in that one chamber. I expected as I started that it was a split system and that chamber would go down when flushing at least one of the wheels but it never did. Can anyone explain this?? (Sorry if this have been covered before, didn't find it with a cursory search....) TIA
