5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I would very much like to have a CAI for my 2010 2.5l but i have been searching for HOURS with no luck finding a compatible intake for my car! why isnt there one available yet?! its been over a year already! please inform me if i have just overlooked something. also i am looking for performance exhause for the same car anything on that also?

i too have a '10 2.5, and i still cannot find an CAI, so all i can do is drop in the K&N air filter. as for the exhaust, i can only find the "factory" muffler, but that is pricey. i thin if you do a search, you will find that someone here has gotten an exhaust system, but it may have been custom built, not factory.
I tried the K&N SRI and it was a failure. The intake, meant for the 2.4, had trouble fitting under the hood. If hit the hood if it was attached snuggly to the throttle body, and if it didn't, it meant it was hanging loose. There was no chance the heat shield would fit. I do not recommend oiled air filters. They dirty the MAF sensor and potentially kill it, leaving you a large tab to pick up. I had my SRI on for 75 miles and it threw a CEL. I cleaned the sensor and put back my stock intake for trouble free operation.
Before you pull the trigger on any intake mod, please do your research. You will find that the stock intake is somewhat a CAI without the hydrolock risk, and that paper filters do a much better job at filtering out dirt. K&N drop in filters do not offer any sound/performance gain, but allows you to reuse the filter and provides a few more mpg. Oiled filters and MAF sensors do not mix well because the oil is sometimes too much on the filter and coats the delicate sensor.
In regards to exhaust systems, buy a quality name and have it welded. If you're serious about squeezing every last drop of hp out of your car, do a catback with a large diameter piping. I do not think headers have been made for this car just yet, but exhaust systems from any brand will work so long as dimensions fit. Some names to look into are vibrant, flowmaster, megan, and magnaflow.
Expect 1-2 extra mpg for intake and another 1-2 for exhaust. Many times you will not get an increase because the sound that your new intake/exhaust makes will have you turned into a leadfoot in no time.
Lastly, please recognize the fact that the gains on the exhaust alone, or the intake alone, is nothing to brag about, and is all at the crank. By the time it's at the wheels, the extra hp is not felt. The best gain in terms of money to gain ratio is a combo of exhaust and intake, but most of this will be placebo. You will darn well sound fast and furious, but you're getting to 40 mph just the same as before, if not better by a few milliseconds.
Good luck!

I believe I was the one who said that the K&N Filter fits our cars to 11LE. This was based on a trip to the K&N Factory in Riverside, CA that I went to. I went, and purposely spent 30min looking for the one that fits our car and it was the same as the 07-09 Camry's. I set up another tour of the factory so I can tell them to fix everything. Mislabeling is a major nono in my book and I feel partially responsible for all the trouble I caused 11LE

eyezack87- It's quite alright. It was a learning experience. I had to return it anyway because of how saturated the cone filter was from factory. Within a day's worth of driving, my MAF sensor was lightly coated and I felt it was best not to mess what goes into the engine. Therefore, with the refunded money, I went to my exhaust shop to mess with the way things exit my engine.
I did go to an autozone to try out the panel filters, though. (aka the drop in filters- p/n 2370) I opened the box and looked at the sealed filter and returned it without opening it. There was a puddle of oil within the plastic.
I'm currently on the hunt for an oil-free aem filter setup.

11LE is right. The stock intake absolutely is a CAI. Those asking for a CAI, meaning they want a big Spectre cone and chrome pipe, don't know what a CAI means. CAI = Cold Air Intake, and in this context, Cold Air = air from outside the engine compartment. The stock intake is already a CAI.
The stock intake isn't restrictive as people think. I favor it over k&n because it is less prone to heat-soak and doesn't suck in hot manifold air.
OP- Headers and a new exhaust system would free up several ponies. Intakes are nice for their sound. To further explain, SRI take in more air, but the air is hot, therefore the gains aren't drastic. The stock intake may take in less air, but it's fresh and cold.
