Headers to replace front catalytic?

I was wondering if it would be good idea to replace the front catalytic. The cataylic and the manifold are together and is just to expensive to replace it. its starting to fail on my 02 Toyota camry 4cyl but it does not overheat the engine or anything, i can just hear a light sound on it. But I was looking over some headers that they sale on ebay and when i contacted the buyer, he said it would be a perfect fit the only thing is that it won't pass the smog if i was to place this headers.I need some opinions, I wouldn't mind having the smig check to be passed or not passed. I was also thinking if i do so I could probably add another universal catalytic to the pipe...give me what you would do> your experience with headers....etc...

i know how to get cars to pass emissions without catalytic converters if you want. only problem is if they stick something in your tailpipe (the probe) you will fail and have a major fine.

He lives in California.

It will never pass an emissions test there.

Not a good idea OP.

you can do it, but not with a high flow. you can run a header and a good cat but you won't see much from it.
