usually e-brake by-pass just require you to ground the ebrake wire.
Be careful some units require a specific sequence like pressing the brakes while pulling the ebrake to activate video. Alpines usually require a toggle switch to by pass it. (toggle switch acts as the ebrake)
Just install a bypass switch, thats what I did in my lincoln ls.
Personally I dont like the rosen units, they look nice as far as looking like it was made for the car. But they seem to have very poor gps connection, they seem to give alot of problems n the graphics are not that great. Alot ppl regret buying it. (I work at a toyota dealer)

Oh really? Well thank you for telling me cause I'm about to burn $1200 for a poor GPS.
I am about to install a Rosen unit in my wife's Camry. She only wants the function of the radio, CD, gps and maybe iPod, she does not want to utilize the video, so I wasn't planning to connect the video wiring harness to the Rosen head unit. Now for a dumb question. If there are no plans to use the video does the safety brake wire have to be connected? Will the other functions like radio, cd and gps work properly without the e brake wire connected? I'm ok with installing this unit, plug and play, but when it gets into connecting other wires or cutting into wires, I'm lost.
i never really installed one, but it suppost to be plug n play from what i heard thats why alot ppl buy it. If it is plug & play its as easy as you think. Call up crutchfield.com 1-888-955-6000 =0P

instead of putting a toggle switch is there a way to just go into setting on the unit and enable the brake override feature?
