Camry wouldn't start

Hey guys, I recently got a camry 2002 LE, it's my first car so i don't know much about cars and how to fix them.

But today right after i got home from work. i parked it for 10 minutes and tried to start it again but it wouldn't start. I didn't get any noise when turned the ignition. I tried jumper cables from another car, that didn't work either. My uncle got me to push the car in neutral and while i was pushing it he switched into park and it stopped with a jerk. Then turned the key and it just started up. Tried it after that about 4 times and it started up properly.

I don't know if i should have it checked out. I don't even understand whats wrong with it. Any advice?

Thanks in advance.

if the car didnt make any noise when u the ignition then it has to be the starter. happened the same with my buddy S14. it started again bc something it would work again once u hit the start( which the jerk help). this is a common thing for old car

so next time it happen again, then its time for a new starter

Suggest test the trigger wire going to the starter. Simple test to cross-out the uncertainty.

If you're not getting 12v+ to the wire w/ rectangular plug, check the ignition to see if it even send power.

If you're not getting anything at he ignition, check your neutral safety switch (NSS).

thanks a lot for your input guys. I've determined the problem to be the starter. because when i tap at it with something the car starts up....So I'm guessing it's the starter itself.

I was wondering if anyone knew where to get a '02 Camry starter in canada? what would be a good place to visit if i was looking to save a bit of money?

Thanks a lot in advance
