get one with longer primaries if you want more scavenging. stock fed spec actually runs a header, just small diameter primaries. get one with primaries that are 1 3/4 or 1 7/8 diameter primaries and try to find one where the primaries end close to the end of the block. then run a magnaflow spun catalytic converter since they are cheap and high flowing. 2.5" exhaust after with a resonator (or 2) followed by muffler of choice.
