My grille

Hello people,

I just thought i might share what I did over the weekend.

I've got a 2004 Camry le and a craving for modding but no money because I has to go to school. But I thought to myself, since I have to money to buy stuff, why not make my own parts? So that's what i did. Using parts I had laying around in my garage, I made my own grille . It's neither perfect, nor is it done, but so far, I'm pretty satisfied from what I have created.

This is what it looked like before I painted it

This is what the grille looks like after it was painted

This is what it looks like on the car.

It's not done yet. I still have to make a trim around it and make it fit snug and add some attachment points so it doesn't fall off. I would like some opinions on what kind/color of trim i should use and what i should make it out of and any other thoughts on it.

not bad for a DIY mod.

May i throw a suggestion ?

Instead of having gril mesh part poke out, have it poke in or either flushed with the hood and bumper meets. Because it just doesn't look flushed (lack of better word)
Like i said it looks good though. keep up the good work

Yes keep it flat and behind the trim. Not a bad start for a home made mod.

Thanks. I welcome all suggestions.

I tried to shape the grille like the stock grille. It bulges out in the middle. Should I just flatten it?
When I took the pictures, i just slapped the grille on there so it just kind of hung there. I plan on putting a black trim around the grille and using that to make it look flush on the car.

Looks decent for home made. How is it fastened? That would suck to be ran over and projected towards another vehicle..

I was thinking of adding either clips or just bolt it on. Maybe velcro?
Ya I definitely don't want it falling off in the middle of the road.

Do bolts, valcro won't hold if it gets wet.

Looks good i agree with everyone about the mesh though. As for the trim colour, do it body colour so it frames the mesh and looks clean.
